Location: Mole National Park is located in the northern part of Damongo, the Northern region of Ghana. It is 670km from the Accra, the regional capital and about 170km of West Tamale in the West Gonja distance.

The vegetation is that of Guinea Savannah woodland, riverine forest, flooded depressions with about 740 different species of plants

Mole being the largest national park in Ghana prides itself with a wide range of wildlife comprising of about 93 species of mammals (elephants, buffalo, lion, leopard, kob, hartebeest, bushbuck, waterbuck, baboons, hyena, etc), over 344 species of birds and about 33 species of reptiles.
Other Features:
Famous “Onipa Nua”, the elephant who doesn’t mind posing with him for picture. “Action”, also an elephant doesn’t mind posing for pictures with visitors but has a little bit of mischief in him. He sometimes raises his trumpet shrilly, a sign that an elephant is angry or nervous. Action does this for fun and actually start coming at you or your vehicle just for the fun of seeing you running before he stops.
